The Character Workbooks are designed to help the student learn Chinese characters in their correct stroke order. Character workbook features: In the Level 1 workbooks, stroke order for each new character is displayed, along with its pinyin pronunciation and English translation.
Character boxes allow students to practice writing the characters. The Level 2 Character workbook, in addition to stroke order, presents example sentences to illustrate word usage in context. The Level 2 Character workbook includes both simplified and traditional character forms.
Four useful appendices are included in the Level 2 Character workbook: A list of proper nouns and measure words; an English-Chinese glossary that includes all vocabulary in Levels 1 and 2; a Chinese character index that lists all characters appearing in Levels 1 and 2; and the simplified-form example sentences that appear in traditional characters throughout the books text.

It's the first time that I've had no replies to inquiries about a book order. Usually, other Merchants send an email acknowledging the order and giving a followup on when it was shipped. Nothing from this merchant. Had to cancel this one after 3 weeks of waiting.

Good book. It was suggested for use in a basic Chinese class I was taking.

I ordered the wrong book, but that's okay. The Integrated Chinese learning system is too complex. What I mean is it takes three books, Text, work, and character; just to learn Lesson 1 part 1, which is a very shallow entrance into Mandarian Chinese. I would suggest other methods that cover more info for the price.

If you want to be able to write hanzi then this book is really necessary. It allows you to compare the strokes between similar characters and gives you space to practice writing the same character over and over until it's more familiar.

I had been looking to buy this, of three required books, for my Mandarin Chinese class at the University of Connecticut, or UCONN. I could not wait any longer and had to purchase a decent priced character book for my class. I definitely got a new book and was glad it came the way it did. There were no problems in the delivery and as the product itself. Thanks.
